Terms of service

Effective 17 October 2026

These terms of service (the "Terms") are an agreement between Carrier Grade Inc., 2665 S Bayshore Dr, Miami, FL 33133, United States ("we", "us", "our"), and you. They govern your use of Testlie, its website at https://testlie.com, its APIs and its documentation (together, the "Service"). If you use the Service for an organisation, you accept these Terms on its behalf and confirm that you have authority to do so. In that case "you" means that organisation.

By creating an account, or by using the Service, you agree to these Terms, to the acceptable use policy and, where it applies, to the data processing addendum. These documents form part of the Terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Testlie is a hosted testing service for development, staging and continuous integration (CI) environments. It provides simulated versions of the services an application talks to, so that your team can see and test what your application sends without it reaching real people. The Service currently includes:

  • Email capture: an SMTP server and inbound addresses that store email in your inboxes, with HTML, link, accessibility, authentication and spam checks, and forwarding to addresses that have confirmed they want the mail;
  • SMS: a Twilio-compatible messaging API and an SMPP 3.4 server that capture text messages and simulate delivery statuses, receipts and carrier failures;
  • WhatsApp: a sandbox that emulates the WhatsApp Cloud API, with templates, simulated users, statuses and webhooks;
  • Push notifications: endpoints compatible with Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), with test devices, keys and service accounts;
  • Voice and OTP calls: a Twilio Voice-compatible API that runs your TwiML against a simulated callee and records what would have been said;
  • Inbound deliveries to your application: simulated text messages and email sent to your application in the formats of Twilio, SMPP, SendGrid, Mailgun and Postmark;
  • Identity: mock OpenID Connect and SAML identity providers with test users, failure modes and multi-factor steps, mock social sign-in presets (Google, GitHub, Apple and Microsoft), and SCIM provisioning tests against your application;
  • HTTP request bins that record requests and return responses you configure;
  • Failure scenarios that simulate outages and errors across the sandboxes;
  • Analysis and automation: reports and checks on captured content, a REST API, webhooks and integrations; and
  • team workspaces, roles, single sign-on for your team, and billing.

We may add, change or remove features as described in section 12.

2. Sandboxes are simulations

Every sandbox in the Service is a simulation. Captured email, text messages, WhatsApp messages, push notifications and calls are never delivered to the people, phone numbers, devices or carriers they are addressed to, and the Service does not connect to real telephone networks, carriers, Apple, Google, Meta, Twilio or any other provider on your behalf. Delivery statuses, receipts, errors, callees, users and identity provider responses are generated by the Service and may not match the behaviour of the real provider in every detail.

The only ways content leaves the Service are those you configure: forwarding to email addresses that have confirmed by email that they want the forwards, and HTTP requests that the Service sends to URLs you provide (webhooks, inbound deliveries, SCIM requests, voice callbacks and similar). Passing a test in the Service does not guarantee that your application will work with the real provider, and the Service is not a substitute for testing with the real provider before you go to production.

Testlie is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Twilio, Meta (WhatsApp), Apple, Google, GitHub, Microsoft, SendGrid, Mailgun, Postmark or any other provider whose interface it emulates. Their names are used only to describe compatibility, and remain trademarks of their owners.

3. Accounts and teams

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You must give accurate account information and keep it up to date. Keep your password, API keys, inbox SMTP and SMPP credentials, sandbox tokens and mock identity provider secrets confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account and in teams you own or administer, including activity by people you invite and by systems that use your credentials. Team owners and admins decide who has access to a team and its data. Tell us promptly at security@testlie.com if you believe your account or credentials have been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

You must use the Service only for testing and development, and in line with the acceptable use policy. In short: no spam, phishing or malware; no attempts to use the Service to reach real recipients; no impersonation of real brands beyond testing your own integration; no load testing or other abuse of the Service; and no unlawful content. Plan limits and rate limits apply to all use.

5. Your content and credentials

Customer Data. "Customer Data" means everything you or your applications send to or store in the Service: captured messages, requests, calls and notifications, test users, configuration, and credentials and keys you upload. You keep all rights to Customer Data. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, process, analyse, transmit and display Customer Data only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service for you and as described in the privacy policy and data processing addendum.

Your responsibility. You are responsible for Customer Data and for having the rights, notices and consents needed to send it to the Service. The Service is a test environment: we recommend that you use test data and do not send real customers' personal data, payment card data, health data or other sensitive data to it. If you do, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so.

Credentials you upload or configure. Some features ask for credentials or endpoints, such as an APNs authentication key (.p8), webhook and callback URLs, verify tokens and signing secrets, SCIM bearer tokens for your application, or an identity provider's client details. You must only provide credentials that you are authorised to use, and you should use credentials created for testing rather than production keys. For an uploaded APNs key the Service keeps only the public part needed to verify your test tokens. The FCM service accounts and APNs keys the Service generates are test credentials that work only with the Service. You are responsible for rotating or revoking any credential you upload if you believe it has been exposed, and for the endpoints you ask the Service to call.

Retention. Captured content is deleted automatically according to your plan's retention period and each inbox's or sandbox's message limit, as described on the pricing page and in the privacy policy. When a team moves to a plan with a shorter retention period or lower limits (including at the end of a trial or after a failed payment), content older than the new period is deleted shortly afterwards. The Service is not a backup or archive; keep your own copies of anything you need.

Feedback. If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.

6. Our rights

We and our licensors own the Service, including its software, design and documentation. Apart from the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, no rights are granted to you. You must not copy, modify, resell or sublicense the Service, reverse engineer it except where law allows despite this restriction, or use it to build a competing service. Client libraries and tools that we publish under an open-source licence are governed by that licence.

7. Plans, free trial and payment

Plans. The Service has a Free plan and paid plans. Prices, limits and features are shown on the pricing page or in an order form signed with us. Limits (for example messages per month, inboxes and retention) are enforced automatically.

Free trial. A team's first paid subscription may start with a free trial, currently 14 days. A payment card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial the subscription starts automatically and your card is charged for the plan and billing period you chose, unless you cancel before the trial ends from the Billing page. If you cancel during the trial you are not charged, and the team returns to the Free plan when the trial ends. We email the team's owners a reminder before the trial ends. Trials are limited to one per customer; we may refuse or end a trial that we reasonably believe was obtained by creating additional accounts or teams.

Payment. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, in US dollars, plus any applicable taxes. Payments are processed by Stripe on behalf of Carrier Grade Inc. and appear on your card statement and receipts as WASLIE, a Carrier Grade Inc. business. You authorise us to charge your payment method for each billing period until you cancel. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it; if it still fails, the subscription may be cancelled and the team moved to the Free plan, with the consequences for retention described in section 5.

Changes and cancellation. You can change plans, update your payment method or cancel at any time from the Billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and the team then moves to the Free plan. Fees are non-refundable, including for partial periods and unused capacity, except where required by law. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; the new price applies from your next billing period after the notice.

8. Suspension and termination

By you. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the Account page. Cancel any paid subscription first.

By us. We may suspend or limit your access, immediately and without notice where reasonable, if we believe that you have breached these Terms or the acceptable use policy, that your use creates a security, legal or operational risk for the Service, us or others, that your account is being used for abuse (such as spam, phishing or attacks), or if payment is overdue. Where practical we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may terminate these Terms and your account for material or repeated breach, or for any reason on 30 days' notice. If we terminate for convenience, we will refund prepaid fees for the unused part of the billing period.

Effect. When your account or team is deleted or these Terms end, your right to use the Service ends and Customer Data is deleted as described in the privacy policy and data processing addendum (within 30 days, and from backups after they expire). Sections 5 (Feedback), 6, 7 (unpaid fees), 9, 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.

9. Warranties and disclaimers

Each party confirms that it has the authority to enter into these Terms. We will provide the Service with reasonable skill and care.

Except as stated in this section, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that simulations will match the behaviour of real providers, or that reports and checks (such as spam scores) will predict how real mailbox providers, carriers or identity providers behave. We publish the Service's status on the status page, but unless you have a separate written service level agreement with us, there is no availability commitment.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • neither party is liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill or data, even if it was told they were possible; and
  • each party's total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms and the Service, whatever the theory of liability, is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and (b) US $100.

These limits do not apply to your payment obligations, to a party's indemnity obligations under section 11, to a breach of section 6 or of the acceptable use policy, or to liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us and our affiliates, officers and employees against any third-party claim, and the resulting losses, damages, fines and reasonable costs (including legal fees), arising from Customer Data, from your use of the Service in breach of these Terms or the acceptable use policy, or from your violation of law or of a third party's rights. We will tell you promptly about the claim, let you control its defence and settlement (you may not settle in a way that imposes obligations on us without our consent), and give you reasonable help at your expense.

12. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We continually improve the Service and may add, change or remove features. If we remove a material feature of a paid plan, we will give reasonable notice and, if you cancel because of it, refund prepaid fees for the unused part of the billing period.

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify team owners by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect, unless the change is required by law or addresses abuse or security, in which case it may take effect sooner. If you continue to use the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel before the change takes effect.

13. General

Governing law and courts. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, and each party consents to their jurisdiction. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer protection rights you have where you live.

Notices. We send notices to the email address of your account or of your team's owners, or by posting them in the Service. Notices to us go to hello@testlie.com, or by post to Carrier Grade Inc., 2665 S Bayshore Dr, Miami, FL 33133, United States. Email notices are received when sent, unless the sender receives a delivery failure.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign them to an affiliate or to a successor in a merger, acquisition or sale of all or substantially all of the relevant business or assets. Any other attempted assignment is void.

Force majeure. Neither party is liable for a delay or failure to perform (other than payment obligations) caused by events beyond its reasonable control, such as natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labour disputes, failures of the internet, hosting or utility providers, denial-of-service attacks, epidemics or acts of government.

Export and sanctions. You confirm that you are not located in, or a resident or national of, a country or region subject to comprehensive US sanctions, and that you are not on a US government list of restricted parties. You will not use the Service in breach of export control or sanctions laws.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the documents they refer to and any order form signed with us, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service and replace any earlier agreements about it. If an order form signed by both parties conflicts with these Terms, the order form prevails. Terms in your purchase orders or other documents do not apply.

Other terms. If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it is enforced to the maximum extent possible and the rest remains in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. The parties are independent contractors. There are no third-party beneficiaries. Headings are for convenience only, and "including" means "including without limitation".

Contact. Questions about these Terms: hello@testlie.com.
